As one of my fellow councillors said "One down...and a lot more to go"
Monday's meeting was really the first of the new term where all of us got together and made some decisions.
A lot of house keeping for the most part, but that's a large segment of the job, especially as we move into December.
Down the road, my colleagues keep telling me, it gets a lot more difficult. And that's true, since just over there...there is a budget looming, and a strategic plan for the next four years. By the time this term is done, there will be a train running through Waterloo, and the remarkable development we have seen over the past few years will continue to transform our skyline.
If you've got some time....send me a note. Your thoughts on a budget (not just don't raise taxes...you can do better than that..although I get it ) Perhaps more importantly, where do you see this city in four years. What should we prioritize? Services? Infrastructure? You can look over the current strategic plan at this link http://www.waterloo.ca/en/government/strategicplan.asp
There will be opportunities for public input as we move along, but I'm happy to hear from you at anytime.
