At the very start of this election campaign, Diana looked at my campaign material and asked.
"Why did you use our home phone number?"
Well, because that's the easiest way to get a hold of me. (not counting email, which was another discussion we had)
I guess she was worried about being overwhelmed with phone calls, perhaps from angry people.
I've been in the communication business for over 35 years. And like many of you I've seen the means of exchanging information completely morph
And because I've been out there, both on the air, and in the newspaper, every now and then you run into someone who has an issue with something you have said, or written.
I always have answered those people right away. Nothing allows anger to fester more than by ignoring it. Usually it turned out to be a misunderstanding..someone didn't hear the whole conversation or perhaps didn't understand the tone of what I was writing (Sarcasm is just one of the many services I offer)
Sometimes though we would just have to agree, to disagree. We each had a different view, and sometimes, there really are shades of grey.
And 99 per cent of the time, that ended amicably.
Communication, they say, is a two way street. It's actually a three lane highway....two for listening, and one for answering.
As we move into final few days of the election campaign, communication is increasing with you. That's good. All my information is on here. If you have any questions, it's easy to find me. And if there's something I haven't addressed....please fire away.
